Tasmania Special Interest Vehicle Registration

The Tasmanian Government offers a Special Interest Vehicle Registration (SIVR) scheme for drivers of cars which are more than 30 years old.

The benefits are reduced registration and insurance fees. SIVR cars can be used on the road for up to 104 days per 12-month registration period. SIVR is available only if the owner has another vehicle which is fully registered.

Membership of a car club is not a condition for receiving SIVR. The Jensen Car Club of Australia can nevertheless assist owners with advice if required.

Special licence plates are issued for SIVR.
